Access Statement : Victorian Holiday House with Considerations for Accessibility
Welcome to Number 12 Yorkshire Holiday House, a charming Victorian family house that has been providing delightful accommodations for over 100 years. While we take great pride in our historical property, we want to ensure that all guests have a clear understanding of its accessibility features.
Please note that all our bedrooms are situated on the first and second floors, and access is only possible via a staircase consisting of 15 steps. We have installed a handrail on the left-hand side of the staircase for your convenience. Unfortunately, due to this architectural layout, the property is not suitable for individuals with impaired mobility who are unable to manage stairs.
The main entrance of the house can be accessed through a small set of 2 steps, but at the rear of the property, you will find level access.
We understand the importance of bathroom accessibility, and therefore, all our bathrooms are located on the first floor. The shower room is equipped with a grab handle near the shower area. Please note that the bath in the bathroom requires stepping into it. Additionally, there are three steps leading from the bedrooms to the bathrooms on the first floor. While this is a characteristic of houses from this era, we have provided a handrail for your convenience.
To ensure the safety and comfort of all our guests, the bedrooms are carpeted, while the bathrooms feature vinyl flooring. We kindly request that you exercise caution if the floor becomes wet.
Please note that pets are not permitted, and smoking or vaping is prohibited inside the house. However, we have designated a specific outdoor area for smoking, where you can enjoy your break.
